…and that’s a good thing–because when you’re on a boat with three different dance floors, live music, and a view of Budapest lit up at night, you don’t want it to stop.
After months of resisting a touristy Danube cruise experience, I finally caved. had good reason to though–I’d snagged a spot on the live music floor hosted by Budapest Open Mic.
Admittedly, when I first moved here back in August I floated down the Danube with my orientation group…but that quiet experience was nothing like this. Budapest attracts its share of crowds of loud, drunken tourists…and plenty of them ended up on this boat. So you can count on a lively atmosphere.
The Budapest Boat Party staff were having more fun than anyone, and were eager to bring everyone in to have a good time with them! And between raging to throwback tunes on the dance floor and falling up climbing those steep boat stairs, the night was actually full of exercise, which is great, because now don’t have to feel bad about that gyro I ate on the way home.
The night was unexpected and golden. I don’t know another if boat cruise could top it–and I don’t think I’ll try to find one. But for my first (and likely only) party boat experience, I’m glad Budapest Boat Party was there to take good, good care of me. Now I know that one of my favorite views of Budapest is from the water!
