Y’all know I enjoy spending time at Bortodoor wine bar, and wine-loving friends there introduced me to this event. With 22 wine regions, Hungary has a bountiful amount of vineyards and wineries. And at Winelovers, you’re able to experience quite a few!
Honestly, I was a bit intimidated–was I walking into a lion’s den? Was I going to be surrounded by wine snobs discussing tannins while I looked like an idiot? But it was chill. There were a range of people there, from those who really knew their stuff, to those who just wanted to drink unlimited wine and enjoy (i.e., me). Fun was had by all.
The basic ticket was ~$50, and granted unlimited access to over…booths (you could purchase add-on tickets to access international wines and VIP experiences). The event is a solid 11 hours, so if you stayed the whole time, you could definitely get your money’s worth.
I just love the chance to hang out in a gorgeous building and sip wine with friends, so really, it made for a perfect Saturday program.
