Any thrift shopper who finds his or her way to Budapest won’t be able to resist the call of Ludovika Vintage for long.Located a quick trot from Deák Ferenc Ter metro (and around the corner from my #1 cafe, My Little Melbourne), Ludovika’s cheeky and cheerful window displays beckon you into an afternoon of fashion time travel.Over the threshold, you can expect a world of rose-scented texture, crushed velvet, and raised embroidery. All the pieces are curated by the owners’ experienced eye, so you can expect details and quirk around every corner.I couldn’t pass up this sparkling, crushed velvet choker–$15Although there’s a range of prices, the amount of designer labels and the vintage nature of the items put most of them out of my “casual spending” price range. But I know that if I want to treat myself to a gem of fashion, I need look no further than the treasure chest that is Ludovika Vintage. I think they have an especially fun jewelry collection.
